Ok, I had this long update but I lost it??? So this one will be short and sweet before Rylan wakes up. First, our plane ride home was not great. I am not going to lie; I would not wish that on my worst enemy. We had bad turbulence and I already hate flying, poor Rylan was so tired and screaming and crying and Frank was starting to feel a little motion sickness....we were a mess. But we just kept telling her that everything was ok and that we loved her and just kissed her face. Frank sang a Korean nursery rhyme we had learned and after about the 4th time he repeated it, she was out. She slept about 5 hours out of the 14 hour flight. All in all though, I think we all did great!
Right now, she is still going to both of us and is easily comforted by both of us. I think she is starting to get a little clingier to me, but will still easily go to Frank. She will look for me if she hears me talking or if I walk by she will put her hands out to me to pick her up (I LOVE IT!!). But she loves her Daddy! She loves playing with him and he makes her laugh, laugh, laugh!! They have so much fun together, singing and playing.....she loves it when he chases her when she is crawling, and she just thinks it’s the funniest thing. She still goes to sleep easily. The first night she slept almost 12 hours and yesterday she did really well with her naps and we put her down at 9:30 PM, she was up again at 1:30 am, then she went back down around 4 and is still asleep now.
She is a good eater! The girl loves her food! She is so sweet; she will try and feed you. When she takes her bottle, she will take it out of her mouth and try and put it in yours. It's really the sweetest thing!! She just does the funniest things, her laugh, her smiles, her jabbering, she mimics you....it's all just like Heaven! My favorite is when I am holding her, it's like she is holding me back...her little arms are wrapped around me just like mine are wrapped around her. She is such a loving child and loves to be held, kissed, hugged and we love doing it!
She has done great with the dogs. She is just fearless....here come these two big dogs running towards her and she just stares at them. She will look for them when they are not around and make this sound (like she is calling them) and they come running and lick her little pudgy feet and then she will shriek and jerk her feet up. I think the dogs are still trying to figure her out and their boundaries with her. We don't let them get too close because we don't want to overwhelm her. But she was feeding Gunner her puffs last night, it was so CUTE!! He was loving it too!
God has truly answered our prayers. We have an amazing story, just how God has worked in our lives and in our adoption story and hopefully soon I will have time to post it. We did not have any expectations from Rylan; we just prayed that God would give us the patience, guidance, strength, compassion and just the knowledge to get through the transition period. We were expecting the worst, but prayed for the best. So far, things are going amazingly well. We are so happy to have our daughter home and finally be a family! Ok...here are the pictures:)
I'm sure you are glad to be home and on the ground after that type of plane ride. I'm not the best at flying but I make do but when the plane does it's dips...ugh..my stomach flops! Rylan is so sweet!! She sounds like such an angel! I pray the transition is an easy one for your family!! Love all the sweet sweet pictures! She has such a contagious smile! You can't help but smile from ear to ear when that adorable face lights up!!
